UACP is seeking to attract a diverse student population with demonstrated academic
competency and commitment to the profession of pharmacy and to service to medically underserved communities, particularly those in Central Appalachia. In doing so, it follows standard policies and procedures for obtaining, selecting, and admitting
applicants in a timely fashion. UACP does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, national origin,
religion, disability, marital status, gender, or sexual orientation (see UACP's Non-Discrimination Policy).
UACP considers each applicant individually and in relation to the entire applicant pool using the following criteria:
These criteria will be assessed using grade point average (GPA), Pharmacy College Admission Test scores (PCAT), and the supplemental application. The most qualified applicants are selected for an on-campus interview, while an alternate pool of qualified candidates will be maintained. A candidate on the alternate list may be given a seat in the class if an admitted candidate chooses not to matriculate. Students are only admitted for the fall semester. Applications are evaluated, interviews are scheduled, and admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. Therefore, it is important that applications are completed as early in the admissions cycle as possible. Work experience is not required for admission to UACP, although it is strongly recommended that all applicants work in the field as a technician through employment, shadowing, or volunteer work. Candidates who have prior experience in a pharmacy environment generally perform better during the on-site interview than candidates without experience. |
