Rachel Maderik is the Library Director and Instructor of Drug Information for the University of Appalachia. She grew up in Reisterstown, Maryland, and currently resides in Whitewood, Virginia. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Biology in 2003, and obtained her M.S. in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2004.

She served at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Library for two years before coming to Buchanan County.
